Punctual and hardworking, I pride myself on my ability to stay calm under pressure; solving problems and interacting positively with a range of individuals. Developing skills and experience over the past 4 years throughout my university experience, I was apart of a team to ensure laboratory and maintenance were conducted. Organized and with a strong work ethic I am confident when using a computer and can work effectively as an individual or motivate a team. I enjoy a challenge as I find them exciting to solve ways to complete my challenges to the highest standards. Having developed a passion for sciences mainly focused upon histology after conducting my research for my dissertation topic of; The use of decellularization in cardiac tissue engineering for heart organ transplantation, however, I am interested in all areas in the biomedical field: Microbiology, histology and immunology, Blood, molecular biology and clinical medicine. Some of my skills include: Laboratory-based skills • Can effectively culture and identify a wide range of bacteria • Good working knowledge of a range of biochemical techniques, including: - PCR - Protein assays - ELISA - Flow cytometry • Stain and interpret histological samples • Prepare and sample reagents • In-depth knowledge of a wide range of statistical procedures • Can effectively culture and passage cells, ability to conduct viable cell count • Cell seeding into 3D scaffold and hydrogel • Decellularising embryonic chicken hearts in a sterile environment • Recellularising embryonic chicken hearts • H&E histological staining and analysis • Microbiology techniques such as gram staining • General Laboratory maintenance IT Skills • statistical analysis software and data handling (SPSS) • High proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
