Qualifications & Work Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in geography; master’s degree in public health (Nutrition), qualified nurse. • Eighteen years professional experience in the health sector, including ward management, teaching, research and program management • Seven years private sector experience in sales and marketing. Problem Solving & Analysis: • Day-to-day ward management involved continual problem identification, diagnosis and solving • At Inglewood Farms I managed the day-to-day interface between supply chain coordination, expediting and problem solving) Stakeholder Management: • Effective nursing requires interpersonal and diplomatic skills. • At Inglewood Farms I had to establish effective working relationships with all the supply chain participants. • In my role as Population Program Co-ordinator, I worked with varied stakeholders with diverse agendas. Adaptability: • I have adjusted to living in very diverse environments (in Australia, PNG, UK, US, Mozambique. • Responding to a deterioration in a patient’s condition; re-prioritising in the face of new situations). • At Inglewood Farms where I coordinated daily orders, production schedules, line haul transport, and local deliveries. Multi-Tasking & Organisation: • Ward Nursing taught me how to adapt to fast-changing situations. I had to work independently to tight deadlines with little supervision; exercise judgement; apply technical skills; and maintain a professional disposition in situations that were often pressured and urgent. Communications: • Good written and verbal communication skills have been a pre requisite for much of my work. • My recent master’s studies involved numerous group discussions and formal presentations. It also involved lots of research and writing papers. • Community research and testing of simple posters and promotional materials in local languages, radio promotional slots, and training of community motivators has taught me Behaviour Change Communication skills.
