I have been part of the Libra team since March 2015 which is a team setup initially to implement the 37 unit per hour line balance. On successfully completing this task we are now trying to improve the overall efficiency of FA2 because it is a new facility there is lots of room for improvement across the shop floor. This involves working with an external consultant team Austamen, along with associates, PL’s, Manufacturing seniors, CME, AME, MP&L and Plant Launch. This is an on-going project which is slowly proving to be a success as to date we have saved over £million for JLR this consisting of saving 122 heads per shift from our initial line balance averaging out at £35,000 per head.In August 2015, I was part of the team that started skill’s school, which was set up to teach all new associates about SQDCME. During skill’s school I spent four months firstly setting up classes to make them the ideal learning environment, once the classes began I specialised in “Quality” I taught classes of eight people the quality aspect of the business which included, why it is important to follow processes and standardising work and demonstrating how much money the business can lose if the quality isn’t efficient and how it effects first time through. It was a fun and positive way of learning which I believe was valuable to all the new associates.I became a GL in March 2014 I have learnt about a wide range of different systems we use as a company such as 5F, MOST and GSPAS. I am able to use CIMPOS for data analysis and problem solving also I can use APT and TSAR sheets to generate processes and check the utilisation of processes. Being a GL has given me a lot of tools that I can continue to use as a Production Leader and they will support me in being effective and successful. Time management and Problem solving are a strong point of mine.
