Passionate, Resilient, Decisive, and Ethical are how I choose to live my life. These qualities have led to amazing experiences and resulted in unique knowledge, skills, and abilities. For 7 months I had the opportunity to study abroad in Paderborn, Germany. There I learned to speak German at a conversational level. Unexpectedly though it was the soft skills that developed the most. At the beginning I relied heavily on non-verbal communication. This skill has transferred to everyday life and enhances my communication in English. Due to the unpredictability of travel in new countries and limited knowledge of the languages, my adaptability increased as I experientially learned how to get around. So too my confidence grew as time and time again I was able to overcome obstacles and find my way. My experiences abroad have ironically solidified my growth mindset as I am always looking to learn and improve. The business world is ever changing and having adaptable employees that can confidently and thoughtfully speak is an asset. I not only have these abilities but look to encourage these qualities in employees. My areas of interest in the field of HR lie in organizational and change management. However, HR is a diverse field and being well rounded in all areas is truly a benefit for both the employee and future companies. Therefore, I am open to all areas of HR in order to further my future plans of effecting change at a senior level in order to positively change the lives of employees at every level of an organization.
