Sana Sohail

Sana Sohail is a young leader working for the empowerment and rights of young people particularly women and girls of Pakistan. She is a co-founder of Chanan Development Association (CDA) and currently working as Director Programs. Sana also founded a Youth Media Voice Pakistan, an online platform for young people to share media pieces, blogs, and illustrations on social issues. She is engaging both young men and women through capacity building, peer education, theater, media and advocacy campaigning to promote gender equality, human rights, democracy and peace across the country including areas who are hard to reach. In 2004 she established the theater group, Chanan Theater Group to challenge gender discrimination, customary practices and violence against women. The groups was later converted into Chanan Development Association (CDA). She is a National Coordinator of Youth Peer Education Network (Y-PEER) Pakistan, Lead Facilitator of British Council’s Active Citizen’s Program, 100 Young Leaders of Women Deliver and also recognized among the inspiring women of Pakistan on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2013 by the US-PAK Women Council. She also represented young people of Pakistan at UN High Level Meeting on Youth at New York in July, 2011.
