I joined Moyee Coffee to support it's FairChain mission; sharing the value in the coffee-chain fairly and equally in order to increase the living standard in the country of origin. Moyee is roasting and packing it's coffee in a new built facility in Ethiopia; new local jobs have been created and value which was previously exported out of the country, now remains with the people who contribute most. Moyee is training local farmers to improve the yield and quality of their beans and to preserve biodiversity. With a focus on economic, social and ecologic impact, Moyee is trying to disrupt the coffee market which is currently dominated by a small number of big coffee companies who are keeping the coffee-producing countries poor and dependent on development-aid. By using business as a force for good, Moyee wants to make these countries self-reliant. Before joining Moyee, I was an entrepreneur in high-end fashion, working as general and financial director in a wholesale-company with off- and online retail. International buying and sourcing, supply-chain management, project- and company-finance and day-to-day general management over a team of sales-people, designer and IT-staff were my responsibility. I love working in an international environment, creating impact by using business as a force for good.
