I am Sara Block, a graduate of Texas A&M University. In 2011, I earned my BS in Genetics. In 2014, I received my MS in Biotechnology with heavy emphasis on genetics. This degree is ideal for science managers, especially where cellular or biological processes meet technologies and products that improve our lives and the health of both people and our environment. In 2014, I also received a certificate in business. I moved in the fall of 2015 and began working at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) soon after. Today I have over nine years of laboratory experience in research and clinical areas, and almost seven of those with lab management experience. I also have experience in business management by managing the VICC Thoracic Biorepository, running my own small business since 2016, and through establishing and leading BADE, a LLC poultry exhibitors & awards club, for two years and counting.
