I have always wanted to help others. I am very excited to be at the point in my life where that dream is starting to become a reality for me. I am currently a Mental Health/Substance Abuse Case Manager with the City of Virginia Beach. I recently graduated with my Masters in Mental Health Couseling. During my last year of school, I was a student clinician at Sentara Hospice in the Bereavement department as well as at the Norfolk Community Services Board. Here, I provided mental health services to a variety of populations including but not limited to; individuals with personality disorders, individuals with depression, individuals with anxiety, individuals with a history or substance use and abuse, individuals with past trauma, and individuals experiencing bereavement or complicated grief. I am a hard worker but think it is important to balance my work with leisure activities, such as volunteering. In fact, I think that is good self-care. I have many interests, but helping others live the best life the can, is at the top of the list.
