Scott Dettmer

Scott is a founding partner of our firm. Scott's practice focuses on the representation of fast-growing private and public companies in the technology and life science industries. Scott also represents a wide range of venture and private equity funds in their investment transactions. Scott has extensive experience in private and public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate partnering transactions and strategic alliances. Scott is listed as one of the top IT and venture lawyers in the Global Counsel 3000, Chambers' The World's Leading Lawyers, and The Best Lawyers in America, and is listed by San Jose Magazine and San Francisco Magazine as one of the top securities lawyers in Silicon Valley. Scott was also chosen as one of the Twelve Dealmakers of the Year by The American Lawyer in 1998. Scott received his J.D. from the University of Southern California, where he graduated Order of the Coif, and his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He was the Executive Editor of The Computer Law Journal and a member of the Southern California Law Review. Scott is also a member of the Board of Directors of KQED Inc., the Northern California public television &a; public radio station.
