Scott Smith

Versatile, result-oriented, hands-on ASIC design engineer with over 30 years of experience in video compression, custom ASICs, System-On-Chips, microprocessors, and network search engines. Recognized for strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems with practical solutions. Over the past decade I have been working in audio/video encoders/decoders building and successfully taping out five chips that went to production and shipped in commercial and industrial products. Prior to that I worked in networking building network processors and network search engines (intelligent CAMs) and successfully taped out out 3 search engines used by the major telephone/internet carriers. Before working in networking, I designed and built a number of custom processors (single issue and super-scaler, CISC and RISC) for targetted commercial and military markets. Three of the designs taped out and went into production. In my spare time I enjoy software programming and had 3 applications on the Apple Store.
