Seth Dunn

I am a Bay Area based Architect and Regenerative Practitioner with a passion for developing sustainable projects that focus on the co-creative process. My process begins by guiding the incubation of ideas that generate potential, vision and purpose through the creation of a Story of Place, a way of understanding the history, anthropology and interconnection of a specific site. I then help communities define the stakeholders, boundaries of systems and relationships within the nested bioregion. From there, we actualize, creating an assessment of resources, relationships and greater networks and develop a Masterplan for the immediate and generational manifestations of the project. This defines the architecture and infrastructure that supports the living system we endeavor to create. As a licensed Architect and LEED accredited professional, I guide a skilled team of Landscape Designers, Permaculturists, Civil, Structural and MEP engineers from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation and on through construction. We work closely with municipalities and local jurisdictions to obtain permits and regulatory approval. I always endeavor to use vernacular materials and construction techniques that support the greater community. The buildings we create are energy creators, water harvesters, and multigenerational sequesters of carbon...all while organizing "barn-raisings" and creating friends along the way.
