Shana Powers

I am a Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Santa Rosa Rancheria. I believe environment creates culture and culture changes environment. I specialize in culture, environmental, and climatic changes in the Tulare Lake Basin since the last glacial maximum. I have a MS in Water Resource Management. I have a decade of professional experience in Cultural and Environmental Awareness, Government consultation, project management and community engagement. My areas of expertise include native plant conservation and restoration, resource management, GIS and spatial analysis (ArcGis) software. In my career, I've held a range of roles in both the public and private sectors including nearly a decade in education working with disadvantaged children that did not meet State standards.
