I want to transform the hard and soft infrastructure to provide communities a choice of how they move around their neighbourhoods. I also want to show decision makers the amazing economic and health benefits of supporting streets for people. I am one of a handful of Australians who is Healthy Streets Design qualified. I have been an urban/transport planner for 18 years, working on infrastructure projects, strategic plans, design guidelines, integrated transport strategies, and statutory planning. I work on various transport planning projects including bike plans, integrated transport strategies, parking strategies, parking management plans, green travel plans and policy. I also co-founded and I am the Director of Streets for People, an advocacy group for designing places for people. We assist communities and politicians in street design and policy through education on the benefits of healthy street design. We seek a seat at the table on discussions about streets and communities. We investigate creating guiding documents to assist stakeholders in decision making for street design and policies.
