Sharyon Peart

With over 20 years experience in corporate business, complemented by a further 13 years in small business, I have an in depth understanding of business development, strategy, operation and management. This experience is matched by my knowledge of local government, gained over nine years spent as an elected Councillor for Mildura Rural City Council. I have a passion for seeking out and securing practical solutions for the challenges faced by regional communities, through a process of transparent stakeholder engagement. My positions as Chair of Mallee Catchment Management Authority and director on the Lower Murray Water board have allowed me to advocate for sustainable outcomes for our environment and communities. I have served the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning on various stakeholder reference groups. I am currently the Chair of Vic Catchments and a member of the Resilent Towns and Cities reference group.I spent much of my life in Melbourne, before moving to a farm in Nangiloc in northwest Victoria and this lived experience of both city and rural life gives me a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges inherent to both. I currently live in Mildura and continue to run my own small business.
