"Research is to see what everybody has seen, and to think what nobody has thought." Currently doing research on C. Elegans genetics to understand embryonic development in the Srayko lab. In most organisms, the oocyte is arrested at Prophase I of meiosis and awaits fertilization. The molecular mechanism of how fertilization triggers the end of oocyte arrest and further embryonic development is barely understood. In humans, the process of embryonic development take more than a decade. C. Elegans provides a simple genetic background and a much less timeframe to study and understand embryonic development. The goal of my research is to understand the molecular signals that works during and after fertilization. Have previously worked on cancer immunology and Dengue diagnostics.
