I have worked within the IT and software engineering sector overall since 2002 working for the company Micro Focus, who are a multinational software and information technology company providing software and consultancy services for clients. I continually progressed within the company, initially joining as a trainee software tester and progressing to a senior testware engineering role. During my career with Micro Focus I completed numerous projects for the company, including test coverage of hundreds of multi-platform systems, and devised and implemented various programs to reduce costs and save time. I was recognised at Micro Focus for my technical abilities and capability of assimilating quickly, which resulted in my role being expanded to incorporate further duties without the need to hire any further personnel. As senior engineer, I had responsibility for managing a junior member of staff, including devising and providing training on in-house testing software, acting as an adviser with responsibility for delegating workloads and tasks on a daily basis. With Micro Focus, I completed an initial apprenticeship achieving a City & Guilds/NVQ qualification and an international certificate in software testing. I have gained a multitude of skills and hands-on experience of software testing, including SQA testing and methodologies, test plans, cases and processes, together with test strategies and performance testing. I am now looking to secure, DevOps Engineer position or Technical Business Analyst, where I can re-apply the skills, knowledge and expertise gained throughout my past experience as well as new cloud computing knowledge.
