Sonya Torres

I am an aspiring UX designer, educator, and artist with a passion for creating accessible, useful, and engaging user experiences. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and grew up surrounded by stunning nature and abundant wildlife. I attended Wesleyan University for Studio Art and Art History, and delved into education after college. Previously in my career, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to arts communities for kids, teach printmaking and process based art to elementary students, and explore teaching other subjects. While teaching, I realized how much I enjoyed the process of designing the learning experience for my students. Creating streamlined lesson plans, engaging presentations, and accessible worksheets became one of my favorite things about teaching. That’s when I realized that I wanted to return to my creative roots and dive back into creating dynamic and pleasurable experiences for users of all ages! I run on coffee, cuddles with cats, and creative expression. When I’m not designing experiences, you can find me practicing yoga, learning how to shuffle, playing with my adorable cats (Roo and Scrunch) or creating another Spotify playlist to capture the moment.
