As Head of Compliance and Information Governance, Sophie is responsible for ensuring that all departments within the business comply with internal policies, rules and regulations. Sophie’s specialism is Information Asset Management, with a particular focus on healthcare, local government and public sector organisations. Sophie strongly believes that compliance is the most important business function. Gaining a reputation as an organisation that fails to meet its compliance obligations can destroy an organisation’s reputation and negatively impact customer relationships. Therefore it is not surprising that reputational risk continues to be one of the biggest drivers for effective regulatory compliance. Furthermore, establishing an effective compliance function demonstrates to stakeholders that compliance is of the upmost importance to the Senior Leadership Team, and provides testament to the organisation’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.
