Stephanie Nitopi

Passionate about carbon management and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable global energy economy through the co-evolution of technology, policy, and finance. Dr. Stephanie Nitopi Karris is a Principal at Carbon Direct where she uses her expertise in carbon capture, utilization, and removal pathways to identify promising technologies, drive internal investment processes, and deploy capital into leading carbon management companies. She has also been a senior member of Carbon Direct's advisory business, providing strategic advisory services to help clients achieve their climate commitments. Dr. Karris has a background in the catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide into valuable products such as fuels and chemicals. Prior to Carbon Direct, Dr. Karris founded her own carbontech consulting firm, CarbonSNK LLC. She also brings diverse skills and perspectives from her stints in R&D and procurement/finance with Fortune 500 pharmaceutical and energy companies. Dr. Karris holds a PhD and MS in chemical engineering from Stanford University and a BS in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
