Steve Birrell

Steve Birrell leads VERSA’s long-term technology vision and is responsible for linking VERSA’s business mission, strategy, and processes to our IT strategy and ensuring VERSA’s current and future technological needs are met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner. Mr. Birrell has extensive experience in Information Technology/Information Systems (IT/IS) design, engineering, implementation, security, and operations and maintenance (O&a;M). Prior to joining VERSA in 2015, he served as a Principal Consultant and Lead Solutions Architect for Erricsson US where he worked to expand product and service solutions focused on major operator and IT migration to NFV, SDN, Cloud, and OpenSource infrastructure and specialized in Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN). Mr. Birrell has also held positions with Amazon Web Services, O3B Networks Limited, and ICO Global Communications where he provided oversight of the design, development, implementation, and operation of wired and wireless components, systems, and software. A US Navy veteran, Mr. Birrell holds PMP, CISSP, ITIL v3, Six Sigma Green Belt, and various Cisco and Microsoft certifications. He also holds Master Certificates in IS/IT Project Management and IT Service Management from Villanova University.
