An experienced research assistant with excellent interpersonal skills and over 4 years’ experience within a laboratory/ clinical setting. Technically skilled in a variety of disciplines within the field of biomedical science. Strong organisation and time management skills, with an innovative approach to problem solving. Resourceful and committed to adhering to multiple project deadlines and performing high throughput sample processing without limiting quality and productivity. Well versed in the principles of GCP, GLP, HTA and ethical regulations. Experience working in accordance with patient confidentiality, health and safety, risk assessment and infection control policies. I am committed to pursuing a career as a translational immunologist. In such, I aspire to take up a PhD, where I am able to develop on my current research skills and enhance my practical skills in immunology. My current laboratory techniques to date include: • Cell culture and generation of cell lines. • Whole blood and tissue processing for isolation of blood components, using density gradient centrifugation, magnetic and fluorescence-activated cell sorting techniques. • Multi-parameter flow cytometry. • Surface and intracellular staining with use of complex antibody panels. • DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, genotyping and qPCR.
