About
I am an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. My multidisciplinary research group at IIT Delhi uses theoretical and experimental techniques to investigate fluid flow and mass transport phenomena at micro- and nano-scales. We leverage the unique advantages of micro/nano scales to design novel techniques and lab-on-a-chip devices for health and environmental monitoring. To this end, we use a variety of technologies including nonlinear electrokinetics, paper-microfluidics, and droplet-based microfluidic systems. A major thrust of our lab is on the development of low-cost, point-of-care diagnostic devices for delivering cheap healthcare in India. Besides applied research in micro/nano-fluidics, we are also interested in exploring fundamentals of fluid and mass transport at micro/nano-scales including electrohydrodynamic instabilities and electromigration in nanochannels.
