In 1996, I had no idea what my parents had gotten me into when they purchased a Nintendo 64 for my 8th birthday. My early love for videogames spawned into a ruthless obsession of mastery. My innate curiosity lead to the reverse engineering of those games. As I began playing games at the highest level, many facets of the design process became clear. How does one create mechanically deep, yet widely accessible games? As Nolan Bushnell aptly put, “All the best games are easy to learn and difficult to master…” Deliberate, thoughtful and meticulous design with a focus on mastery and replayability are at the very core of my philosophy. My mission is to pay it forward-- to be a part of creating the games that once inspired me many years ago.
