T. Matthew Lockhart

Problem solver. Business partner. Teammate. I manage a team of in-house and outside counsel navigating complex litigation and appellate matters over a wide variety of subject areas across the country for Norfolk Southern, a Fortune 300 company. Before going in-house, I was a partner at an AmLaw 200 firm and spent a decade focusing on commercial, transportation and civil defense litigation. I have federal and state court trial and appellate experience. I have written scholarship pieces concerning the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and have been published in a number of venues, including the UCLA Entertainment Law Review (2009) and the Dayton Law Review (2010). Prior to attending law school I worked as a sports reporter for several media outlets, including the Associated Press, MLB.com and the Charleston Daily Mail, where I was named West Virginia’s Best Sports Columnist.
