After completing a residency in the University Hospital of the Ryukyus, Dr. Inoue began to work as a cardiologist. He mainly engaged in the treatment of the patients with IHD and heart failure, simultaneously he started his career of clinical research activities for participating in the OGHMA Study which is a cohort study of the participants of health evaluation program. Currently, he engaged in a nationwide cohort study of the diabetic patients with CAD at the University of the Ryukyus, and he also started up a cath-lab based multicenter cohort study of the patients with stable CAD and also a hemodialysis center based cohort study in Okinawa. His focus of interest is on the resting heart rate. He has been published papers demonstrating the association between resting heart rate and cardiometabolic risks, target organ damage, and CV event.
