Currently working on my Master degree in School Counseling from the Concordia University of Chicago. I first arrived in the Republic of America in 2006 upon completing my Master's Degree in Ukraine. My roots date back to a small country in Eastern Europe, a country found in the very heart of Europe bordering Moldova, Belarus, Russia, and Poland, Ukraine. Both my husband and my roots are in Ukraine, and we are both proud Ukrainians. I am fluent in Polish, Ukrainian and Russian languages, while my husband is fluent in Polish and Russian. I have been working as an English Teacher since I completed my Master's Degree in Ukraine in 2005. I have always wanted to work in America. And for a school to help me reach out and make a mark out there. The same year, I made a green card application. When the application was successful, and I became a full-fledged working American, I came with my family. The benefit of having a diverse talent pool makes the school striking to striving, globally-minded talents; it also helped the school keep its working staff on board. Diversity has known to improve retention and reduce employee turnover costs. Some of the major weaknesses that come to mind are the difference associated with understanding the professional etiquette and incompatible working-styles across teams. Colleagues with different cultures bring different workplace attitudes, and in the teaching and counseling profession, I have faced so many incompatible work etiquette from my colleagues. I have been a victim and also the perpetrator of the act. In a way, individuals should feel comfortable in their work since they spend most of their time there. Since life is dynamic, whoever brings the best out of everyone may change their attitude another day and completely change the circumstances the following day. Thus I tend to push the question away when asked and focus on my work and how efficient I can make it. Whoever makes me or leads me to the feeling of being in the right place, perhaps I would say that specific time is the right person to work with.
