Tamzin Lovell

I’m on a mission to make it easier and faster to succeed in the art world. Tamzin is the founder and CEO of Artfundi, a software company that helps art businesses transform their efficiency and achieve significantly greater results without needing to hire more staff. She is a Founder Member of Elevate.ac, a global knowledge platform, where she delivers a Masterclass on digital transformation in art. She is also a Founder Institute Mentor. Before Artfundi she owned and ran contemporary art galleries in London and Cape Town, where, building on her formal art education, she developed her passion and knowledge for the art market. She has been invited to speak worldwide, in interesting places like Lithuania, Las Vegas, and Johannesburg. She developed a personal philosophy, which remains a central ethos in her business today. It is the simple idea that “People should walk out taller than when they came in”. Tamzin's move to the Artworld was out of the corporate world, where she spent over a decade in research and marketing within big business and then as a consultant to various corporates around the world in the FMCG, finance, and motor vehicle sectors, including SAB Miller, National Brands, Almarai (UAE) and Pacific Beverages (Australia); Old Mutual, Nedbank, BMW/MINI. Leading up to her corporate years Tamzin worked in various fields, selecting positions that offered her opportunities to apply research methodology to big problems requiring strategic solutions that would impact futures. An example is the Department of Water Affairs 'Future of South Africa' project, in which she worked alongside Prof Laurie Schlemmer at Mark Data, on forecasting scenarios for the country's future water requirements. Curiosity is the common thread through all of Tamzin's work life, and learning is an ongoing pursuit and pleasure. Other pleasures, non-work related, include off-road motorbike adventure riding, flying small aircraft (she has a PPL and once owned a Cessna 182, which got stolen and crashed - but that's a story for another page or another time), traveling - especially to art fairs and biennales around the world, and spoken poetry.
