I started my academic career by studying management engineering at Saint-Louis. After much consideration, I decided to change trajectories and opt for something I am really passionate about: computer science.A few years later, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). As I was still eager to learn, I continued my studies by enrolling in a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Due to my interest for Artificial Intelligence, all optional courses I could take discussed disciplines and techniques of AI. Thanks to these optional courses, I have had the opportunity to develop knowledge in several fields of AI such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Big Data, Techniques of Artificial Intelligence, Swarm Intelligence, etc.A Master's Degree cannot be achieved without a thesis. The subject of my thesis was “Ostracism and Cooperation”, granted to me by the Machine Learning Group (MLG). It is a multi-disciplinary subject revolving around evolutionary game theory and justice. The goal of this research is to explore whether restorative justice outperforms criminal justice when it comes to supporting (and sustaining) cooperation. Results showed that, under some interpretations, restorative justice can be more efficient than criminal justice. These results were obtained through Moran Processes run on a fixed size population, where agents’ payoffs are defined by a mathematical model (that varies with the context and hypothesis of the world that is modelled).The subject of my thesis was accepted as part of the STIMUL initiative of FutureICT 2.0. In this context, the supervising team was composed of an expert in Restorative Justice from California State University in Fresno as well as a founder of ULB's Machine Learning Group.
