Tanner Fairrington, PE

Working for the Medford Fire Department and serving the community I grew up in is incredibly rewarding and I am thankful to be in this career! In walnut 2020, I received the 2019 Employee of the Year award for the City of Medford which was a surprise and an honor! I have proven commitment to customer service, communication, teamwork and providing innovative solutions. My responsibilities include plan review of commercial building projects in collaboration with the building department, inspections, fire investigations, and public education. Project leads include cannabis-related occupancies, HazMat, and large assembly occupancies. I am fortunate to serve as the President of the Oregon Fire Marshals Association, and I have been honored to be on the board since 2017. Past experience includes commercial building plan review, including fire and life safety plan review when applicable. I am a Licensed Civil Engineer (OR, CA) with structural and civil design experience. Structural experience includes design of retaining walls, design and inspection of bridges and design of residential and commercial structures. Civil experience includes site design, and roadway design including signals, channelization and grading design, utility and easement coordination, and striping and signing.
