Tasos Barmpas

I am a graduate of the Department of Primary Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I hold a master in Teaching of Biology and Environmental Sciences and am currently carrying out doctoral research on the natural history and wildlife films as an educational tool and their development in school environmental education at the University of Thessaly. I have been in charge of the educational and creative design and technical implementation of textbooks in Greek language teaching in Secondary Schools under a ministerial delegation introducing for the first time in Greece the use of photographic education. I was also the senior project manager for the instructional design on a project for MLS Innovation Inc. In order to create the first e-school online (e-learning) and to provide educational services to elementary students and their parents. I collaborated with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a freelance research associate in various Greek and European educational programs and worked together with the Pedagogical Institute and other public and private entities on how to apply different modes of instruction. I participated with oral presentations in scientific conferences, symposia and working groups, and my research work has been published in Greek and international journals, conference proceedings and special magazines. Since 2001 I have also been working in private elementary schools of Thessaloniki. In 2013, I was appointed the first principal of the Elementary School of the American Farm School of Thessaloniki. In 2014, I was also given administrative responsibility for the supervision of the Preschool as well as the Kindergarten and in 2016 was named Director of Preschool and Primary Education. In 2017 I was given an Honorary Award as the member of the AFS’s administrative staff with the highest evaluation score and the most significant contribution to the overall progress of the Institution. In 2019 started working for the European Commission Programs' Office at the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and in 2021 was appointed as coordinator of the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 for school education sector and TCA officer for the Hellenic National Agency. In the beginning of 2021 until the end of 2022 I worked as educational consultant for the American College of Greece - Pierce for proposing the overall architectural design, the unified interconnection and the experiential dimension of all educational programs for it's new school units (Kindergarten and Elementary).
