About

I'm a cancer biologist focused on the discovery of novel targets, mechanisms and strategies to inhibit tumor progression with over 15 years expertise developing in vitro (2D, 3D and iPSC-derived organoid) and in vivo cancer models. I am a professional highly experienced in molecular and cellular functional assays in anti-tumor drug development. I was the first author on the paper that generated the Ixolaris patent (for treatment and prevention of cancer – WO2010107991A2). I have a proven ability to work independently and, in a team, to reach the research goals, take initiative, and efficiently manage complex tasks and multiple priorities simultaneously. My career goal is to translate my scientific knowledge and skill set into new therapies and treatments that will eventually help and improve the lives of cancer patients. Technical Skills: • Deep expertise in solid tumors. • Solid expertise in pre-clinical models. • Mammalian, caner stem cells, patient-derived tumor cells, 2D, 3D, co-culture assay, and iPSC- derived organoid. • Pharmacological treatment of cell culture (2D and 3D systems). • Gene manipulation (siRNA and shRNA). • Experience with small molecules and biologic compounds • Transient/stable transfection cell line generation. • SDS-PAGE/Western Blotting/Automated Western Blot. • Gene expression analysis (RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR). • Flow Cytometry (surface, intracellular, multi-color staining and cell sorting). • Cell based assay (proliferation, viability, colony formation, cytotoxicity, apoptosis/necrosis, cytokine profiling, Elisa, cell signaling, migration and invasion). • Enzymes Activity Assays. • Cell cycle. • Sequencing technology (RNA extraction, PCR amplification, barcode incorporation/library prep/Clean-up/ quantification/ poll preparation for sequencing). •In vivo tumor models (Xenograft and Orthotopic). • Immunofluorescence • Intravital imaging. • Live imaging and fixed cell/tissue imaging. • Image analysis using Zeiss Zen, FIJI/ImageJ. • FlowJo. • Quantification using GraphPad Prism & Microsoft Excel, Figures and manuscript preparation using Adobe Photoshop Illustrator. Core Competencies: • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving/troubleshooting capabilities. • Working on own initiative and quickly adapting to new projects/ new lines of research. • Ability of successfully handle several projects at the same time. • Effectively collaborating in a diverse team environment. • Years of experience working in a lab environment. • Ability of designer and performer research experiments.
