Temidire Alesh is a Gender Activist and multilingual (French, English, Yoruba) International Development Professional with over 8 years of experience implementing Public Health and Gender Justice initiatives with diverse development actors including Multilaterals, State governments, Nonprofits and Grassroots Organizations in Nigeria, Togo and the US. Her career began as a Program and Fundraising Coordinator with Special Olympics in Nigeria, after which she joined the Peace Corps in Togo as a grassroots Community Health and Gender Educator. In the Peace Corps, she was awarded the Michelle Obama Let Girls Learn Grant to implement girls’ education and leadership initiatives. She subsequently worked with the Lagos State Ministry of Health and PharmAccess Foundation in Nigeria on the launch of the Lagos State Health Scheme,and was named an Invaluable Contributor to the design and operationalisation of the scheme. Ms. Alesh has held gender-focused consultancies with the World Bank in Washington DC (Gender Data Unit and the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice), the Global Environment and Technology Foundation (GETF) in Virginia and most recently with the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDs, TB and Malaria. She holds a Masters in Global Human Development (specializing in Gender Rights, Labor & Social Finance) from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where she was awarded a full scholarship. She holds a Bachelors in Neuroscience from Emmanuel College.
