Tharun Ponduru, Ph.D.

I completed my Ph.D. In organic chemistry with a strong analytical background in December 2019 at the University of Texas at Arlington. Later, I moved to Baylor College of Medicine in Feb 2020 for postdoctoral research and worked on the development of a plasma based metabolomic biomarker panel for the early stage diagnosis of prostate cancer using mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and also worked on the development of a novel metabolomic mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) technique combining atmospheric pressure (AP-MALDI) UHR ion source with a triple-quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer (QQQ-MS/MS) to evaluate the spatial distributions of several metabolites in tissues in a targeted manner. Currently, I am working as a Bioanalytical Scientist at Pharmaron in the Advanced Bioanalysis team! My current role as a bioanalytical chemist challenges me everyday and allows me to work alongside a fantastic team of multi-disciplinary scientists in a clinical lab environment. Most importantly, my work can have a real impact in people’s lives.
