Thomas Baker

I am a physical chemist with a broad range of expertise in the characterization and study of nanomaterials by visible/IR spectroscopy and scanning probe techniques. My spectroscopic toolkit includes single molecule fluorescence/Raman microscopy, ensemble absorption and photoluminesence, the use of integrating spheres for both absorption and PL, as well as time correlated single photon counting techniques. My experience with nanomaterials includes metal nanoparticles, thin metal films, and semiconductor nanoparticles (quantum dots) of various compositions as well as devices which incorporate them. I have an extensive background in chemical physics, experimental design, programming, and characterization/instrumentation. I have several publications in the field of single molecule chemical physics.
