Thomas De Rosa

I experienced working in the financial markets (Lehman Bros Investment Bank) in the late 1980s to early 1990's. I interned with top investment banking experts, whereupon I gained valuable knowledge of market analysis, as well as insight into global trends influencing market behavior. By the middle of the 1990's, I worked for Applied Materials and Intel directly with engineering staff assisting in a variety of technical related issues ranging from testing prototype systems on Applied Material's the Edura 5000 Etch Machine to improving line production at Intel's wafer fabrication assembly in Santa Clara. Near the late 1990's, I worked pursuing multiple trades in the construction industry. Primarily, I worked as a construction journeyman carpenter and lead foreman. I served as a superintendent for a large independent general contracting firm completing phase II and III of a multimillion dollar modernization project for the San Jose Unified School District, as well as working with them on projects at Travis Air Force base. I also contracted with the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) retrofitting and repairing large culverts and underground substations. I worked as subcontractor, as well as owned my own construction company. In 2007, I went to work for the Metropolitan Education District as a specialist assisting in any number of large scale construction projects to operational technical issues for the Metro Campus. I work directly with Facilities Management on estimations, budgets, critical path management and in field technical support issues, as well as intern supervision. While an employee with the Metropolitan Education District, I also served as the Chief Job Steward, Chief Public Relations Officer, Vice President and President of the local CSEA chapter 227. I lead negotiations for the membership with the District, as well as, participate as an advocate in both disciplinary and grievance procedures. .
