I’m a First Vice President – Investment Officer at Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, Member SIPC in Houston, TX. I began financial services in 1991. Since that time, I have developed extensive knowledge in risk management through active asset allocation and currently assist clients with investment planning, retirement income and businesses with 401(k) plans.My career started in corporate banking with Chase in New York City immediately after graduate school. I subsequently worked for Marine Midland and its parent, HSBC. At these institutions, I lent to the energy industry and later managed Pacific Rim business for West Coast multinationals from Los Angeles. Deciding not to take a banking position in Hong Kong, my wife, Julie, and I moved our family back to Houston. I earned a BS Foreign Service from Georgetown Univ in Washington DC and my MBA from the Univ of Chicago. Prior to grad school, I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay. I taught in a high school and created the school library. I was involved in improving sanitation; worked with leaders of a small community to build a school. The last 5 years, I’ve served as a member of the Int’l Board of Directors of Amigos de las Americas (entirely volunteer). Amigos is a charity that trains and sends 650 high school and college students on community projects in 9 Latin American countries.
