Thomas Lynch

Thomas J. Lynch, M.D., is the director of the Yale Cancer Center and the physician-in-chief at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven. He has focused his career on the care and treatment of patients with lung cancer and the clinical development of novel agents targeting lung cancer. Recently, his work has focused on agents directed against the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the potential role that EGFR mutations play in lung cancer biology. Prior to 2009, Dr. Lynch was the chief of hematology-oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. He received his M.D. from Yale University and completed his internship and residency at MGH. Before joining the staff at MGH, Dr. Lynch served as a fellow in medical oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Lynch is a founding board member and vice chair of the board of the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center, a foundation devoted to promoting compassionate health care.
