About
I am a Scientist with a combined 32 years of experience research and development within the Pharma Biotech field. Throughout my career, I have used effective communication skills combined with a solid work history that has helped me to be a team player. As a Process Development Scientist, I am responsible for the GMP product support, and process monitoring of downstream purifications within the large-scale manufacturing suite. * Valuable experience working with lateral flow assays at Envirologix that includes development, optimization, and validation of lateral flow (immunochromatographic strip) tests for detecting and measuring proteins from genetically modified plant materials (GMOs). Other formats include water mycotoxins; environmental and agricultural molds and fungi; plant pathogens and pesticides. * Achieved 2011 EBI Innovation and Technical Excellence Award that developed the Quick Scan reader system which provides quantitative results for lateral flow test strips. * Received 2013 EBI Innovation and Technical Excellence Award that developed the Aqueous Free Aflatoxin LFD strip used in the innovative QuickTox Test kits. Provides solvent free – water extraction with quantifiable results in as little as 4 minutes. * 14 years of antibody development and characterization while at Maine Biotechnology Services. Responsibilities included protein purification, immunogen design, carrier protein conjugation. Characterization included screening antibodies by ELISA, Western blotting, IEF and zonal gel electrophoresis. * Responsible for establishing protocols for purifying monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies by affinity, ion-exchange and sizing chromatography.
