A General Manager in the Financial Services and Insurance sector, I have dedicated the last 6 years of my career to Brooklyn underwriting, building it from a niche specialist into a major player in the Insurance field. Through leadership of marketing and business development strategy highlighting Brooklyn’s unique point of difference, driving lean operations and continuous technological innovation, I am proud to have played a key role in building a highly profitable business first acquired by XL Group in 2016 and then AXA in 2018. I dedicate time to identifying market pain points and overseeing the development of customised products that provide answers to complex risk issues. In my view, this has been the foundation to Brooklyn’s sustainable growth and a key driver in the business winning Underwriting Agency of the Year at ANZIIF Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Before embarking on a corporate career, I played professional rugby. A tighthead prop, it was my job to provide stability to the scrum and push against the opposition. I’m often struck by the similarities between my position in rugby and my mandate in business - to ensure stability and differentiation from the competition. Bringing the resilience, persistence and work ethic I founded on the pitch, I approach business challenges with tenacity and define a shared purpose for the teams under my leadership that drives performance. I prioritise adding value to customers and in applying this principle at Brooklyn, I have supported and driven the development of award-winning products and industry first online learning communities, establishing Brooklyn as a brand committed to delivering top client service across all lines of business.
