Tim Whitcombe

I've recently taken on the role of Operations Lead in NBBJ's London Studio, returning to the London Studio following a few years in NBBJ Seattle. I have experience across a large rage of project typologies, varying scales and sectors. These projects have enabled me to develop interests in design, process, graphics and technology, undertaking projects in a BIM environment, while exploring the use of data as a design tool through computational design. Passionate about sustainability, I am qualified as a LEED Green Associate, and have completed a number of SKA, BREEAM and LEED Certified projects. Previously NBBJ London's Sustainable Design Leader, now part of NBBJ's Global Sustainability Series Group, we ensure each project is tackled with an appropriate and holistic sustainable approach. I studied at The Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice & Management in Architecture with Merit. Before moving to London I completed the Masters course at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen, achieving a MArch Masters with Merit, building upon a BArch qualification from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in 2010. I am an extremely passionate and driven person, and take a keen interest in all aspects of design, construction and technology. I have developed a high level of expertise in various design and layout techniques such as computer aided drawing (CAD), as well as rendering methods using Sketchup, Vray, Revit, Enscape, Photoshop and other digital visualisation tools. As well as training as an architect, I have experience in the field of graphic design, which has helped to further my understanding of various design methods, as well as keeping my eyes open to a wider design context.
