Timothy Allan

Timothy Allan has over two decades of experience in design, science & engineering, and innovation, with a focus on creating more sustainable solutions for global challenges. He is a Fellow of the The Designers Institute or New Zealand, and a recipient of the highest awards for design in New Zealand having won a number of gold an purple pins. As a Strategic Advisor at Priority One Western Bay of Plenty,Timothy supports the development and delivery of sustainability & innovation and strategy for the city of Tauranga and the region, working with the CEO and executive team to foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and impact.Timothy is an Fellow at the Edmund Hillary Fellowship, a network of over 500 of some of the most globally connected and forward-thinking entrepreneurs and investors in the world, who incubate solutions to global problems from Aotearoa New Zealand. His interest and expertise in circular economy, life cycle thinking, design and innovation led him to found two companies: Locus Research (Innovation) and UBCO (Electric Vehicles) which he led over 20 years. Subsequently he has advised and mentored a range companies and startups in various sectors providing strategic input and guidance on a range of topics.
