After a successful career in the restaurant business I have turned my focus on the true passion of my life: music. I am not a singer or instrumentalist, but in essence a music historian that has chronicled my connection to music through my own weekly personal chart and my website beyondradio.com. Beyond Radio started as a curation of charts based on people like me from around the world, a place to discover new music. In the last couple of years it has become a place where music nostalgia and music discovery collide. Through the "Beyond Radio Presents" podcast, my monthly blog posts about music from previous decades and the myriad of playlists I have on Spotify my intention is to connect to my audience through the nostalgia and bring in an element of discovery along side it. My podcast partner, Jeff Morris, is a great foil for my quirky music themes and brings in the perspective of a former college and party DJ & general music enthusiast that is the prototype of the intended audience; adults through the circumstance of life have remained in music nostalgia or lost touch with their music passion. My other job as an Uber driver adds another dimension when my riders and I engage in music conversation. I had worked in the hospitality industry in the Boston area for over 30 years, in most facets of the industry with a specialty in event coordination. I strived to make the planning process as seamless as possible for my clients and the word no is not a common part of my vocabulary. I started working with Ming Tsai and the Blue Ginger team in 2011 and we've been building our event business ever since. Our private room offers a lot of flexibility, we can accommodate up to 80 people in the full room and with movable walls it can subdivide into 2 or 3 separate private rooms. We have also done many off site events with groups like Mass. General, MIT, the Joslin Diabetes Center and more. Before Blue Ginger I spent a decade as function manager for various locations of Papa Razzi & Joe's American Bar & Grill. I also spent a couple years working with many independent local restaurants and caterers as an event broker, facilitating the connections between clients and the businesses in the network.
