When it comes to workforce solutions, I am the guy pulling my chair to the table to hear more. As an advocate for the foodservice and hospitality industry, I've been leading the charge on community and workforce development as well as creating career paths while mentoring employees, giving them the experience they need to get ahead in life and on the job. All of these personal priorities are present in every project that I/we get involved with. – most notably, Snapchef, which Daniela and I founded in 2002 – and the 501c3 Snapchef Foundation, which was founded in 2015. The genesis of Snapchef was formed during my tenure as Northeast Regional Chef at food service conglomerate Aramark, where I routinely had trouble finding qualified kitchen staff who had the right training and the right attitude. I was also profoundly influenced by my experience as Chef for The Olympic Village in Atlanta, 1996 – at which I led a team of 72 cooks who fed 15,000 athletes daily for two weeks. Through these experiences, I've learned that creating and giving our employees the tools, they need to succeed in workplace environments with a commitment to community would be the key ingredients for any successful enterprise. I saw not just a solution to the acute shortage of trained temporary kitchen staff across the food service industry, but the opportunity to change lives – and change communities. Snapchef was not to be just an employment agency. Snapchef would be a holistic organization with a mission – dedicated to positive social impact by celebrating food as art and personal expression, sustenance, workforce development and community building. My commitment to developing people – and supporting communities – has helped all of us grow to more than 1,400 employees. Through our efforts, Snapchef increasingly collaborates with all levels of government and organizations to explore new ways to serve community members. Attending ICE/Interise 2007 a graduate certificate in Small Business Entrepreneurship from Boston University. Street Wise MBA In 2015, SBA Small Business of the Year Award for Massachusetts. In 2017, Snapchef received the Interise Good Citizens Award 2017. In 2018 they received the Massachusetts Restaurant Association Education Foundation Leadership Award Ii In 2019 proudly accepted the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, John Gould award for Education and Workforce Development.
