As an educator with 17 years' experience with teachers and students, I am committed not only to inquiry-driven education, but also to thoughtful leadership that meets the needs of the whole child. As a curriculum developer, I have helped write nationally recognized resources (POGIL Activities for Chemistry), led workshops, and networked with other New York City Department of Education schools to spread the gospel of inquiry learning. As a teacher-leader, I have spent time investigating the lack of equity in our schools and ways we can begin to address inequality on the classroom, school, and district level. As an educational leader, I have coached new teachers and managed induction programs that both improve novice instruction and build communities of collaborative educators. This work has involved the creation of a high-quality culture of feedback, interdependence and personal growth. I have had the privilege of working with great teams who build fantastic systems for data sharing and new-teacher support. I am thrilled to continue doing this leadership work and to provide even more support for the Science students of New York City.
