Tommi Makinen

I have almost 15 years experience of logistics in different positions in an international organization. I have managed a distribution center in the USA, material availability of a distribution center in the Netherlands and a logistics IT project in global environment. I have worked in a fast-paced telecommunications industry in a demanding market. I have managed a distribution center which was located in the USA. My responsibility was to make sure that the whole supply chain from suppliers to the customers was operating flawlessly and the agreed lead times and service level targets were met. This activity covered the whole logistics function, including inbound and outbound transportation, customs collaboration and LSP collaboration. Most recently I worked as a project manager in a logistics IT project which had an international team in multi location environment. The project was successfully able to integrate my employer’s IT system (SAP) with logistics service providers’ systems and provide more visibility to the delivery process. I have a long experience in working in a global company during which time I have also worked abroad, in the USA and in the Netherlands, so I am used to working in an international environment and cooperating and communicating with people from different cultures.
