Serve your people first.Don't confuse busy with progress. Currently I'm SVP, Managing Design Director at Barkley in Kansas City co-leading the design practice with some amazing humans. I've spent 23 years, my entire career, working in some form of visual design. It's likely some of that is luck but I've tried to work hard at it along the way. Relevant experience includes work on brand and identity design for Applebee’s, At Home, Coca Cola, IHOP, NASCAR, Planet Fitness, ReeceNichols, Sonic Drive-In, Sprint, Vanity Fair and many more. I'm passionate about the impact that design can have on culture and society. I've worked with organizations ranging from Teach for America and KC Rep to the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend. I enjoy telling stories that benefit the arts, education and the community as a whole that we live in. Previous to Barkley I worked at Blacktop Creative, Three Wide Marketing, and Neuman Creative Direction. The work we've done as a team has been recognized by the Clio awards, Cannes Lions, NPR, Communication Arts, Print, AIGA, Graphis, Ad Age, How, The One Show and more. I think that's pretty neat.
