Uddhav Parashar

Being an enthusiastic penultimate Software Engineering and Creative Intelligence and Innovation student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), my dedication was fuelled from a young age as I was constantly in awe of how design and complex software systems work. I view the world from a different angle, observing and learning how complex systems operate. As Steve Jobs once said, “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” This inspires me to do small hardware projects with whatever hardware I have while learning how software and digital systems would work together with a computer. I would create different types of media, using the design process as a creative outlet. Placing these concepts together, software systems entails both design and logic which is powered by code. Curiosity coupled with creativity and logical thinking has naturally directed me to peruse Software Engineering as I believe I can positively impact the world as we continue to embrace the advantages of changing technologies in our everyday lives. From my past experiences being a Full Stack Software Engineer intern and interning at an Electrical/Electronic based engineering company, I have developed the ability to learn in different environments within different fields. I always investigate new ways on how we can improve as a company, but most importantly society and how to positively benefit everyone. Becoming the Vice President of UTS Engineering Society has allowed me to help students to network, socialise, but most importantly develop and share new skills. Currently I sub major in Network Engineering due to my interests in both the hardware and software aspects of how digital systems communicate and “network” with each other. I believe this is becoming a more important field as the world becomes more closer with the power of the internet.
