Vaitiare Todd

I am a dedicated and loyal employee who works well with others. Valuing hard work, positive attitude, and honesty is really important to me. I came to realize these values of mine when I found my passion in three things: world culture dance (Tahitian), international Latin dance (Salsa, Rumba, and Samba), and playing the piano. These passions taught me how to express my feelings and emotions in other ways I couldn't, and they helped me explore who I truly am inside. Being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful creation around me is something I can't miss. Twice a month, I would go hiking and camping with friends and family. One of my favorite places we went to was Glacier National Park. It truly is a perfect opportunity to take time to appreciate the beautiful world we live in. One skill I have is being proficient in the french language (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking). My mother is Tahitian and has been speaking french to me since I was young, but I was able to perfect my language skills in french when I had the wonderful opportunity to be a volunteer representative for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where I dedicated 18 months in Vanuatu and New Caledonia participating in community service including cleanup and building new homes after Hurricane Pam as well as teaching english to all ages. Being surrounded by an exotic culture and wonderful people, it opened my eyes to pursue a degree in Public Health. It broke my heart to see those people suffer and have horrible living conditions where sometimes they had no access to clean water. One thing I had gain from observing and being among these people was when things brought them down such as a Hurricane, they always came together as a community or family and rebuild. If there is anything that we can do better, it is definitely this.
