Varun Shringarpure

A developer by Passion and Profession, I started with my development career right from my school days (K-12) with C language. After taking admission in Computer Engineering and I got a chance to work on a number of industry projects in Visual Basic 6.0 and .Net/ASP.NET. During the campus recruitment drive, I got a nice job opportunity, which lead me to the Sitecore world. Along with the development which is the main task of any developer, I worked as a part of a team called the “Core Team” which was responsible for managing and maintaining Low Response Time and Highest Uptime of the environment. I got a chance to work closely with the Sitecore support as well as infrastructure team, to solve many issues in our live environment related to performance – hang or non-responsiveness, crash, slowness – and in turn, improve the overall Manageability & Scalability of the environment. I was lucky to work on a number of important projects some of which being Sitecore Version Upgrade, IIS Upgrade, SQL Server Migration, etc – which were critical, not only as a task, but even considering our Environment size - a shared platform, with around 700+ client websites and DB being 150+ GB in size. I am a Sitecore Certified Developer for Sitecore 9.0 and have been working on Sitecore since 2010. Currently, I work as a Technology Lead at Horizontal Integration and blog on Sitecore Endeavor. I lead a team that works on the Careers website of United Health Group. We keep adding new features to the website along with adding security and performance fixes to the same. Apart from coding, I am passionate about cycling and that’s the way I recharge myself during the weekends. Either alone or with a group of friends, along with our cycles, we move to different scenic locations during the weekends. Some other hobbies include reading self-help books & teaching Dotnet Technology to college students.
