NOTHING IN THE WORLD CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF PERSISTENCE. TALENT WILL NOT: NOTHING IS MORE COMMON THAN UNSUCCESSFUL MEN WITH TALENT. GENIUS WILL NOT: UNREWARDED GENIUS IS ALMOST A PROVERB. After time at a University in Canada, I took a position in San Diego, running their fish health program. While there, we discovered a molecule through a grant to develop a vaccine. This molecule is something that we all have inside of us.When the company decided to close the program, my colleagues and I retained possession of the technology. This molecule is present in all vertebrates, including humans, so we took this technology paired with our knowledge to form another company. It was a serendipitous merging of science and circumstance that led me.Once reestablished, my focus evolved to business operations. I directed the Research and Development pipeline while empowering our scientific staff. Eventually, I managed the manufacturing segments as well. To me, science has always been the easy part.
